When forging high-performance titanium and titanium alloy bars, hammer heads (four pairs of hammer heads) distributed in the circumferential direction of the bar stock are divided into fast and synchronous forging. If the workpiece has a circular cross section, one side rotates at a low speed and the other moves axially. The characteristic of radial forging is that it does not require a special mold and can forge precise parts according to a predetermined procedure. Radial forging has a small amount of compression each time and a high number of forgings per minute, generally 240 to 1800 times / minute, which can improve the plasticity of the metal. Accuracy of forgings: hot forging diameter ± 0.5 mm, cold forging diameter ± 0.1 mm.
6.Heat treatment of B348 titanium bar
According to different grades and requirements of titanium bars, different strength and plastic ratios are obtained. Under the same conditions of the bar material composition and the forging process, the titanium alloy finished products with different uses can be obtained through the cooling rate of heat treatment.
Common cooling methods are air cooling, fan cooling, water cooling, and sand cooling. For these several cooling methods, different equipment is equipped. Roll cooling with a cold bed during air cooling. This method can ensure uniform cooling of the material and is not easy to bend. When fan cooling, use a large fan with the same power to directly blow the material, accelerate the cooling rate, increase the strength by 5-15MPa, and reduce the plasticity. Water cooling A special cooling tank is used to control the cooling rate by controlling the water temperature and water flow rate. This method can greatly increase the strength by 20-50MPa and reduce the plasticity by 3-8%. When the sand is cold, using a sand pit to wrap the blank to reduce the cooling rate is also the slowest Cooling method can slightly improve plasticity by 2-5% and reduce strength by 10-20MPa.
